The answer to "why specialty training?" is quite simple. An entry-level course provides you with the motor skills, equipment knowledge, and minimum open water experience needed to be considered a competent diver. However, an Open Water Diver course does not a specialist make.
Specialty training has two primary objectives: to prepare
you for new diving situations, and to improve your level of skill. The specialty Diver Program provides an excellent introduction to a variety of different diving subjects such as Deep Diving, Boat Diving, Night Diving/Limited Visibility and many others.
These courses are designed to enhance the enjoyment of each new situation. Specialty training also develops your current level of skill to a much higher level. For example, you may have always wanted to explore underwater wrecks, we can teach you how.
A specialty course takes you clearly beyond what you learned on your Open Water Diver Course. Each specialty generates its own excitement and opens its own doors. Not every specialty is appropriate to every diver or diving level. Some specialties may not pertain to your area, but can be enjoyed when traveling.
Every specialty, however, can open new vistas for the diver who wishes to explore all the adventures scuba diving can provide!
The MidCoast Scuba Center Specialty Diver Program offers the opportunity, through continuing education, to accelerate the learning process that otherwise could only be gained through significant, time-consuming experience. You can quickly prepare yourself to be comfortable in whatever diving situations apply to you personally. Here is a simple, inexpensive way to gain knowledge, experience, confidence and recognition, in classes tailored to your specific interests!
